The Pergamum Church Age (Married to the world)

The word Pergamos means married to the World. When the time of the second church age was accomplished, due to many flatteries and many persecutions, the church got blended into the world. Christians feared for their lives and hid their identity. They began doing pagan practices. This brought about a great fall in the faith of the believers.

12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; 13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. 14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. 16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. 17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

The word Pergamos means married to the World.

When the time of the second church age was accomplished, due to many flatteries and many persecutions, the church got blended into the world. Christians feared for their lives and hid their identity. They began doing pagan practices. This brought about a great fall in the faith of the believers.

The light in them began to dim out until when it was quenched. This happened when persecution was put on hold by the Roman emperor Constantine who blended into the church without conversion to Jesus. He organized and joined the state unto religion by forming the first Christian religious organization called the Catholic Church at the beginning of the 3rd Century.

Probably you have been told before that St Peter was the first Pope; but I want you this day to understand that St Peter died in 64 AD, and the Catholic Church was founded in 325 AD after the seating of the Nicaea council. The man that founded it became the first Pope (Pontifex maximum which is by interpretation the highest priest of the Roman religion; in the early BC years).

I want you to know that none of the Apostles wrote the Apostle's Creed and the Catechism, But the Apostle's Creed was written and agreed upon by 318 Ordained Catholic Bishops at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.

Constantine made Catholicism a state’s religion and forced it upon the people under him. They were required to dress in very long tassels and cloaks with crosses over their garments but without conversion. The church reigned over many both spiritually and politically and all the opponents to the religion were considered enemies of the state and were banished, shunned, and excommunicated from the community.

This church age of Pergamos reigned from the 3rd to the 4th Century.

Remember Rome was completely pagan and occultic so the devil managed to enter the church and got its seat inside the church. People began to worship the devil without knowing. The doctrines of the Nicolaitans and Of Balaam were the doctrines of the day and the whole world embraced them. During this Church age Truth was cast down to the ground and the Word of God (The Bible) was hidden from the public.

Nobody was permitted to preach but only the graduated theological clergy after mastering the doctrines of the church and the rule of Rome. Almost all theology the church is using today was developed by the Pergamos church age messengers of Satan;- the Christmas, the rosary, the valentine, the Easter Sunday, the different days of saints, the purgatory, the practice of indulgences, the apostle’s creed and other dogmas were born there.

This marked the Dark Ages. Sorcery and magic took over the world which would reign until when Martin Luther arose in the 15th Century. In those days there was no difference between a Christian and a sorcerer because they did the same things. People could go to church and still visit mediums and consult familiar spirits.

The messenger to this church was St. Martin of Olives who was a faithful witness that resisted the wicked practices of the Catholic Church but was later executed.

Jesus introduced himself to this church as He that has a sharp sword out of His mouth signifying Judgment and whoever overcame was promised to feed on the hidden manna and to be given a white stone, on which a new name was written.
